Ain’t No Sunshine When it’s Gone
My dad and husband are rock stars and built this pergola last year to add some shade to our roasting backyard patio.
I LOVE it!! But I hate it at 5 in the afternoon when the sunshine likes to come down and glare in our eyes…
Solution!!!!
I bought some place mat and napkin sets at Hobby Lobby for $2!!!
I cut the placemats and napkins in half, evened them up, sewed them together, and came up with some fancy little ties for my curtains…
I would love to make some cushions, pillows, and accent pieces for the patio as well…
Someday…

Love the pergola…I want one too! Can I hire your dad and hubby? The curtains are a great touch and really give it that chic outdoor living feel.
You always have fantastic ideas – and I wish I found that kind of deal on placemats!! Have a great Day!
Drooling over the pergola – southern exposure is a killer! LOVE your curtains!! So fancy : ) NFF
LOVE the placemat idea. I’m so going to do it too! You need something with more holding power outside and little drapery tabs wouldn’t have done the job. Nice. Happy Friday! Found you over at Diana’s (TGC).

My family owns an upholstery & patio shop and I’m a big fan of curtains on the patio! It is so much less expensive than more permanant options, plus it adds tons of charm! I love when my clients chose to go this route. Great job with the tie backs…so creative!

Love what you did wth the curtains and tiebacks…we have the same problem on our back patio only its the morning sun, we live in the desert so is brutal until mid morning at the earliest. Can I ask what kind of fabric did you use for the curtains. I would think a cotton duck or sunbrella kind of fabric. thanks
