Tuesday Tutorial: DIY Mason Jar Lanterns
We have a boring ol pergola in our backyard.

If you want to skip the “coloring” process and go right to the hanging part, go right ahead!! I just like the “vintage” look that the blue gives to my plain old jars…
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
While you’re waiting for the jars to dry…
Step 4:
Step 5:
Glow baby, glow!!
This was the first of many projects, to spice up our backyard…
Can’t wait to show you some more:)

Awesome! They look great!
Ooooh it’s like a bunch of fireflies! How magical! Are the difficult to get lit? I hope you will show this off at my VIP party today! http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/08/vip-party-22.html
They make a very nice, almost magical, addition to your beautiful pergola.
Staci, this is incredible!! I love the coloring process–genius to just add food coloring to mod podge!
I can’t believe how great these are! Fabulous!
Love it!!! Hey, did you use those battery powered tea lights for these pictures? I guess you could use real ones too…I was just wondering.
Thanks Miss Kitty!! Yes, there are battery powered tealights with a timer so you don’t even have to manually turn them on:)
These look lovely. I did a similar project which you can read about on my blog. Instead of Mod Podge, I used Elmer’s Glue.
So fun. This is the second tutorial I have seen using Mod Podge to paint a mason jar with color. Love it!
I would love for you to hop over and share this solution on my weekly mommy meme.

Love the fact that they are uneven
I’m a type A and probably would have hung them all at the same length, but they definitely have more flava this way
That is so stinkin’ cute!
Love this! I love the color you added to the jars and the beautiful glow they give off at night. I need to find some jars of my own! I’d love it if you’d check out the giveaway I’m having on my blog for a Dremel Trio!
They look absolutely divine!
SO pretty!! Would LOVE it if you would link these up at my turquoise lovin’ party going on right now!! http://www.sweetlittlegals.com/2011/11/turquoise-lovin-13.html
