- Necklace chain (can be found at any craft store)
- button
- Make your pom pom flowers. You can follow this tutorial on how to make them.
2.Arrange your fabric flowers on your felt, Hot Glue all of your flowers except the top two flowers.
3. Glue your necklace chain to the back of the top two flowers and then Glue the flowers to the felt
4. Once all your flowers are glued to the felt carefully cut them out.
5. Done! Wear it and show it off!

Tuesday Tutorial: Reversible Ruffle Scarf
***We’re giving away a $25 credit to our shop this week over at Tatertots and Jello!! Go check it out HERE
***
Ok, What I’m about to tell you will give me away completely.
I get it.
I’m totally a dork!
We had family pictures last week, and I was trying to find outfits for everyone to coordinate. The colors that I’m totally digging right now are grey and mustard yellow. Do you think I found anything ANYWHERE for any of us!! Nope. I was lucky enough to scrounge up some fat quarters from a quilting shop in my town…
So I had to make do…
I followed the tutorial found HERE and made a bowtie and suspenders for my boys… (minus my husband, he wasn’t about to let me put him in a bowtie!!)
And a cute headband for my daughter…
And a ruffly little scarf for the mama… Me:)
Would you like to make your own Reversible Ruffle Scarf?
Supplies:
- 1/4 yard each of 2 coordinating fabrics
- as many other coordinating fabrics as you would like for your ruffles (I used 3 more)
- cutting mat, ruler, and rotary cutter
- sewing machine and thread
Step 1:
You can cut your scarf as wide as you would like, I cut this one to be about 9 inches and kept it the length of the fabric (about 42 inches).
Cut 2 pieces, one for your front and back.
Next cut the strips for your ruffles. I cut each different fabric, a slightly different width, just for variety, but if you want to even them all up, go for it. Keep in mind, you need them wide enough to hem. Make each strip 1 and 1/2 or double the width of the scarf. (For example, if my scarf is 9 inches across, I want my strip to be 14 or more inches long)
Step 2:
Hem each ruffle strip. Do this by folding the raw edge of both sides of your strip of fabric 1/4 inch, and then another 1/4 inch. Press, and sew into place. (After you press it, you can pin the fabric to help the it stay put.)
Step 3:
Make ruffles! Sew a gathering stitch (the longest stitch setting on your sewing machine) along the center of each strip of fabric. Pull the bobbin thread on one side of the strip until it starts to gather and scrunch. Continue to scrunch and pull the strip until the ruffles are even.
Next, pin the ruffles to each end, of each piece of the scarf. Make sure and pin them to the right side.
Sew each ruffle in place.
Step 4:
Place one of the scarf pieces on top of the other, right sides facing, and pin in place.
Sew along the edge of the scarf using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Make sure and leave about 4 or 5 inches open to turn right side out.
Step 5:
Turn the fabric right side out. Find the opening, and fold the fabric down inside the scarf and press in place. Press the entire outside edge of the scarf to make sewing easier.
Start at the opening and sew along the entire edge of the scarf one more time.
Guess what! You’re done!!
So, I finally found my accessory piece with my two favorite colors, yellow and grey!!
You can use any fabric you would like for this project, I used cotton. Also use as many or as few ruffles as you would like!

Supplies needed:

These are so cute! You could use them anywhere… I can’t wait to add these to one of my handbags and to make for my girls to wear in their hair!

Tuesday Tutorial: Super Cute Zipper Pouch
These little pouches are one of my favorite things to sew… and they are so easy to make!
I love to give these as gifts or make them to match a bag. You could also make this pouch with cute pleats, there is a great tutorial for a pleated pouch on Skip To My Lou
The supplies you need:
- Sewing machine
- Zipper foot
- 7 inch zipper
- 2 colors of fabric, for the outer and lining of the pouch
- Heavy interfacing, I use Decor Bond
- Light weight interfacing
- A cutting mat and ruler
Cutting Directions;
2- outer fabric, 8″x 2 1/2″
2- outer fabric, 8″x 5″
2- Lining fabric, 8″ x 6″
2- Heavy interfacing, 8″x 6″
2- Light weight interfacing, 8″x 2 1/2″
2- Light weight interfacing, 8″ x 5″
Step 1. Iron all the interfacing onto your fabric pieces.
Step 2. Take 1 outer band and 1 outer piece of fabric and sew them RST 1/4″ from the edge. Do the same for the other 2 pieces. Open it up and press the seams.
Step 2. Line the 3 edges up. Take 1 of your outer pieces Right side facing up, place your zipper on top, take 1 of your lining pieces and place it right side facing down on the zipper. Sew 1/4″ from the edge with your zipper foot.
Step 3. Next, do the same for the other side of the Zipper. Lining piece Right side facing up, then the zipper facing up and the Outer fabric piece on top, line up all 3 edges… sew 1/4″ from the edge with the zipper foot.
Step 4. Bring the 2 lining pieces over to the same side and bring the 2 outer fabric pieces to the other side. Un-zip the zipper half way so that you are able to turn it once it’s sewn. Pinch the zipper towards the outer fabric pieces. Make sure you line them up neatly, pin in place.
Step 5. Sew all the way around the zipper pouch 1/4″ from the edge. Leaving a 2″ opening at the bottom of the lining for turning.
Step 6. Turn right side out and sew the opening closed, tuck the lining in the zipper pouch and your done! Iron to give it a nice crisp, finished look!
I made this cute pouch for my mother in law’s birthday to match a bag I had made her…. you can also find Zipper pouches similar to this and the cute flower clip in our Etsy shop!

Tuesday Tutorial: Anthro Inspired Headband
REMEMBER TO PLEASE VOTE FOR MY PROJECT OVER AT MADE BY HEIDI!!! YOU CAN VOTE ONCE PER DAY!!! I’D BE VERY MUCH OBLIGED:)
Ok, so I have to apologize if this post seems repetitive, but I’m just on an Anthropologie kick lately!!
Last week I gave away a sweet Anthro inspired headband, and it got more attention than any other post or tutorial I have done to date, so I thought I would show you how to make one of your own:)
Supplies:
- Any fabric scraps or squares
- Hot glue
- Headband
- Embellishments (optional)
- felt square
Step 1:
Cut your fabric into strips. In my case, I used a leftover square of fabric. I cut it into 3 strips of 1 1/4 inch wide fabric. After rolling it into the rosette, I wanted one of my rosettes slightly larger, so I ended up sewing two strips together to make it bigger. (Sorry, I don’t have a picture) You can keep all of your strips the same, it’s totally up to you!!
I cut another strip about 2 inches wide to use for wrapping around the headband.
Step 2:
Press each strip in half lengthwise.
Step 3: Tie a knot in the very end of each of your fabric strips.
Step 4:
Begin each rosette by wrapping the strip around the knot. Glue with fabric glue or hot glue every 1/2 turn to secure in place.
When you’ve reached the end of your strip, tuck the end piece underneath and glue in place.
Flatten out and shape the top to your taste.
Step 5:
Wrap the remaining strip of fabric, (you may need more than one strip depending on how long your fabric is) around the headband, securing it with hot glue as you go.
Step 6:
Secure the rosettes to the headband with hot glue. Use a piece of felt to secure the back.
Add any embellishments if desired
Voila!!! I LOVE this classy look!!
