Backyard Makeover
So at the beginning of the summer we knew our yard needed some serious HELP!!
Take a look at these sad little befores….
See how we needed some serious help!!
So we ordered a TON of wood chips…
Found some pretty flowers and a firepit…
Added some bling to our pergola…
And I found some bright fun outdoor fabric to re-cover the old cushions from before…
Now we have a bright, colorful, FUN-ctional outdoor space:)
Wanna come over and play…

Tuesday Tutorial: Chalkboard Flower Pots
So I have a confession…
I’m obsessed with Pinterest! (Seriously…you have to check it out:)
There, my secrets out… Phew!
So while I was browsing all the inspiring pins for a few hours minutes, I came across this darling idea from Scissors and Spatulas, on how to spruce up my flower pots!
Here’s my version…
Chalkboard Flower Pots
I kinda already liked, my blue pots… (cheap, plastic, Walmart, need I say more:) but they needed some flava, know what I mean:)
And my front entry definitely needed something…
So grab your pots and let’s get started!
I ran out of painter’s tape but duct tape worked alright…
Make sure you get a nice, close seal. (My paint ran a little)
Summer Place is the name of our street, and very fitting for the season as well!! Ahh… flowers make me happy:)
See… Much better!!!

My Brown Thumb is Turning Green
I sooo had to record this one for posterity, b/c you won’t see it happening again ever soon!!
Guess who was responsible for this major transformation…
BEFORE:
Notice all the little green monsters coming out of the ground…
Gross!!!
Ok here comes the happy part…
AFTER:
Now all the green things poking out are attached to pretty flowers:)
My cute little kiddos, my cute little sis, and I took out every single weed with our bare hands (well, I guess they were covered in gloves)
And then we planted flowers, all over the yard.
This was our father’s day gift to my husband…
That’s how much I love him:)
